Diving center de Aalscholvers is celebrating a significant milestone with the successful completion of an innovative GUE Dive Leader training. The new Dive Leaders Julia, Ragna and Stefan have successfully completed the six-month training program under the guidance of Martijn Blommaert. They are one of the first groups worldwide to successfully complete this training.

The training originated from a need within the GUE diving community to provide better support during courses, especially in REC 1 aftercare, acting as a video support diver and providing valuable feedback during (and after) the training. “We wanted to increase GUE's overall capacity within the recreational sector and therefore developed this unique training course,” Martijn explains.

The competencies established by Global Underwater Explorers (GUE), translated by Martijn into practical applications, have served a higher purpose: making learning to dive more fun, easier and safer. The new Dive Leaders are now not only highly capable, but also comfortable in their role as training assistants, setting a new standard for the diving industry worldwide.

Diving center de Aalscholvers has not only helped write a small piece of diving history, but has also created a blueprint for future GUE Dive Leader training. This extraordinary achievement will undoubtedly positively influence the quality of recreational diving training.

With Tilburg as the epicenter, these three pioneers under the leadership of Martijn Blommaert will use their knowledge and passion to strengthen and inspire the diving community.
