Rob Aarsen: fashion and fantasy underwater

Tholen Improved NR edited edited

Underwater photographer Rob Aarsen is increasingly shifting his field of work from editorial photography to underwater model photography. He delves into the fantasy world of mermaids, nymphs and water spirits, which he captures in a fairytale-like, colorful way. It is a story of longing: for a more beautiful world on the other side of the water, just as the little mermaid longed to be human and marry Prince Erik. And man's desire for mystery: that there is more between heaven and earth and mermaids really exist, just like aliens or the Loch Ness Monster. And to lose yourself – even for a moment – in their world.

At the invitation of The Exhibition Company, Rob Aarsen will show a small selection of his work at Duikvaker 2024. In a pop-up exhibition in hall 2 you will find twelve large-format photos – fashion and fantasy underwater. The photos are printed on ChromaLuxe material. That is one of the most beautiful ways to print underwater photos. ChromaLuxe prints are unprecedentedly clear, giving the impression of depth in the photos. The colors pop off.

The Chromaluxe prints are for sale at € 285.00 each. In addition, Rob organizes workshops for underwater models and photographers, merfolk photo trips (in collaboration with Dive & Travel) and underwater photo shoots for novice and experienced models. More info and books: www.in2thedeep.com
