New PADI Specialty Finkicks

Divers learn to swim with fins in their Open Water course, but they are by no means complete after that. They've only had one fin turn, and it's certainly not perfect. There are many more fin hits. Think of swimming backwards (backwards kick), turning around (helicopter turn), and frog kick (frog kick). Make as little dust as possible, don't touch anything and move with precision. As an Open Water Diver, you benefit from those skills.

Swimming long distances is much less tiring with the frog kick.
Hanging a camera in front of something and getting close enough for the most beautiful picture. If you want to swim back after that photo, you don't want to push against the coral, but use a back kick.

Good fin technique is AWARE. Time for a specialty fin strike.

But how do you teach divers all these techniques? We can show the intricacies, and that's what we'll be doing during the Specialty Instructor Training Vining Techniques. You will not only learn more about fin strokes yourself, but also gain experience teaching them.
