Bonaire launches new and informative island podcast with a focus on the underwater world
Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB) recently launched a brand new Bonaire Podcast. The podcast, which features island visitors as well as numerous local residents and experts, can be listened to on Spotify. The podcast series has a total of six episodes, each with its own theme. The episode about diving and snorkeling will premiere on October 11.
On World Tourism Day, the very first episode of the Bonaire Podcast was launched with the theme 'Nature', the subject that the island with the slogan 'It's in our Nature' is so close to my heart. In it, listeners learn about the island's Nature Tag and Bonaire Bond, among other things. In the episode 'Diving and Snorkeling' a snorkel sail visits Klein Bonaire on a catamaran, tips are given about diving lessons and obtaining your diving license on Bonaire and drift divers share their experiences about the underwater beauty of Bonaire.
The following topics will also be discussed this year: Culture on October 25; Culinary on November 8 and Viva la Villa, about island experiences from a villa on November 22. The closing event of 2023 is the Sustainability episode on December 13, in which Nicolette Kluijver, among others, will talk about her efforts regarding the reuse of plastic products and keeping beaches clean. Nature and sustainability were not coincidentally chosen as the pillars between which the other four episodes are planned. It is a symbolic reference to the themes on which Bonaire relies most heavily.
The podcast episodes each have a duration of approximately 30 minutes and are recorded in the Dutch language. Leonie de Jong, founder of Jouw PodcastMaker and freelance radio maker at NOS, among others, recorded the material for the Bonaire Podcast during a press trip to Bonaire in May this year. The entire Bonaire Podcast is produced by De Jong. The Bonaire Podcast is to listen here, as well as via Bonaire's online channels at bonaireisland.com/nl (via the Spotify icon), Facebook and Instagram @BonaireToerisme.
