Symposium Safe Diving
On November 11, 2017, the Fit2dive foundation is organizing a full-day international symposium on diving safety at the request of the Dutch Association for Diving Medicine.
Topics that are offered are:
• High blood pressure and diving, by Peter Westerweel, chairman NVD
• “Divers in need”, Olaf Tompot, prevention coordinator KNRM – Royal Dutch Rescue Society
• “Don't get lost”, Guy Thomas, Exec. Vice President Divers Alert Network, Mission and Operations
• Introduction to decompression theory, Mattijn Buwalda, board member NVD, ao safety committee
• Diving after cancer, the importance of diving medical advice, Peter van Bragt biologist and volunteer ANEMOON Foundation & Inge Tofield- van der Ende, diving doctor Fit2dive Foundation
• Diving and children, Guy Vandenhoven, sports doctor and (diving) medical examiner
• Otitis externa or swimmer's ear, Paul Van der Eecken, ENT doctor, diving instructor DAN
• ADHD/autism and diving, Bram Querido, psychiatrist at practice Querido, diving instructor/owner Qdiving
The program thus offers both the experienced diver and the novice diver a lot of interesting things.
