This is what you can expect

Sammie is going to explore a range of opportunities in diving and related activities for young people of different ages and backgrounds, and a variety of educational experiences, based on the different types of engagements she has had with them during the past year. Research shows that young people are particularly interested in themes such as exploration, adventure, travel, the environment, sustainability, life balance, well-being and so on. Clearly scuba diving offers young people opportunities associated with all of these. In addition, it opens the door to the 70% of the earth that is unexplored in person by the majority of people, despite its fundamental importance to the very future of the planet which becomes very real to those who visit it. If you are a diver, non-diver, young person, parent, teacher, dive professional, dive center or resort owner, we at Open Ocean Field Station are excited to share with you some of the different ways that we seek to provide a variety of different opportunities for young people to engage in diving

Sammie Clare

Sammie graduated from Cambridge University, UK with an Honors degree in Education and after decades in the classroom in an international setting, she discovered scuba diving in her mid-40s. She only wishes she could have learned at a much younger age! Now a PADI and RAID master instructor, Sammie is making up for lost time by making it her mission to communicate and share her passion for all things diving to young people which she does in her role of volunteer program and community projects coordinator at the award- extraction Roots Red Sea / Pharaoh Dive Club, El Quesir, Egypt.
