Open Ocean Field Station reopens after busiest season ever

Following the busiest season ever at the award-winning Roots Red Sea resort, the final facility, the on-site Open Ocean Field Station, will fully reopen and be operational March 1, 23.
Open Ocean Field Station offers a range of facilities and services for researchers, universities, school groups and anyone with an interest in the marine and ocean environment.
Education and awareness play an essential role in efforts to manage and preserve our environment. Open Ocean promotes education among students, schoolchildren, local residents and tourists by organizing and delivering scientific field trips, marine biology courses and public seminars.
At the Open Ocean Field Station, there are opportunities for everyone to monitor and study fringing reefs, seagrass meadows, mangroves, fossil reefs and the different environments within them, with numerous endemic species and microcosms of typical Red Sea activities.

Open Ocean has been supporting university research for over 10 years. This ranges from teaching in the field for bachelor students, student projects at both bachelor and postgraduate level to expeditions. In addition, Open Ocean has welcomed school groups from all over the world, enabling students to learn practical skills such as survey methods, data collection and analysis, how to plan and conduct a successful research project.

If you're looking for your next expedition base or a place to volunteer where you can help the environment and community while developing personal skills, take a look at Open Oceans. www.openocean.org
