-THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTO-
Almost always I swim towards the beautiful platform (Divestek Bergse Diepsluis) at the beginning of the dive. Also this dive, only this dive is a bit different. Before I get to the platform, I come across this beautiful couple at the bottom.
From a short distance, I see a large and photogenic hermit crab walking backwards, clutching a smaller shell with one of its pincers. The first thing that comes to my mind is that it's definitely time for another housing. But why are you moving from big to small? That is not useful if you want to grow bigger! But what turns out? A small hermit crab is hidden in the small shell.
It takes half an hour for the two to get used to me. They don't care about my presence. Then the moment comes when I can take the pictures I have in mind with my camera with the 45mm lens – I want them in the picture together. As soon as they are on it, I let the two of them continue to scratch on the sandy bottom!
The proceeds from the auction of the photo benefit the realization of the nature documentary “Groene Stad Achter De Duinen”. The creators of this want to seduce the viewer in a casual way to get an eye for nature, arouse curiosity and thus increase involvement. The North Sea with its unique coastal strip including the beach, the beautiful dune area, some fantastic forests, wonderful parks and water features with fascinating underwater life are depicted in a unique way. All this against the urban background of our Hofstad
