Photo Exhibition Mick Otten at Duikvaker

Mick Otten exhibits photos of sea animals during Duikvaker. He photographs these animals on the coast, during his weekly diving trips and especially at home. Mick turns them into natural art by separating these sea animals from their natural environment: he captures them on a black background – or makes it black for underwater shots – to emphasize their special shapes and beautiful colors. They are all photos of living animals; after they have been photographed, they regain their freedom.

Mick Otten is a freelance photographer and visual artist and grew up with marine nature from a young age. You regularly come across his photos on websites and in books and magazines.

He blogs and writes about it, such as on his weblog http://micksmarinebiology.blogspot.com On https://micksmarinelife.blogspot.com he is creating a photo encyclopedia of all the species he has photographed.
