DivinginBeeld Theme Table – Blackwater Diving
Inspiration, information and interaction – that's what it's all about at the themed tables at the booth of DuikeninBeeld. Underwater photographer Raymond Wennekes shows how great blackwater diving is and also has tips for photographers.
You don't have to explain to most divers that there is magic in the water. As soon as you put your head under water, you will immediately notice that you are in a completely different world. A world with magic in which it is not about the time and stress of daily life above water. This is the reason most divers dive.
Underwater photographer Raymond Wennekes experienced a completely different form of underwater magic in Anilao in the Philippines, namely Black Water Diving. It is a form of night diving where the diver really imagines himself in "Outer Space". The strangest shapes pass by in the water, from shrimps of only 2-3 mm in size to colonial animals of 6 meters.
Raymond explains everything about this form of night diving, he tells you why it is still relatively unknown and why you absolutely must do it if you get the chance!

Raymond is a fanatic underwater photographer who, in addition to his diving in the Netherlands, also travels all over the world to capture everything that comes in front of his camera as creatively as possible in tropical waters. This creativity has already earned him the title of Dutch Underwater Photography Champion twice. In addition, Raymond's photos are regularly published both online and in magazines and he gives many (private) workshops in underwater photography.
