Dive to Museo Atlántico with Dive College Lanzarote!

Beautiful clear water, varied marine life and a new, unique dive site – Museo Atlántico – the first underwater sculpture museum in Europe. Here you can dive between the beautiful sculptures of artist Jason deCaires Taylor and between huge schools of fish, barracudas, and sometimes rays and angel sharks. A magical experience!
The Museo Atlántico – complete since the end of 2016 – has been constructed as a large artificial reef to draw attention to the protection of our beautiful underwater world. There is the Rubicon, a group of 35 statues of people, and the famous Raft of Lampedusa, a reference to the refugee crisis. There are also various sculptures that are half cactus and half human to depict the relationship between man and nature. It is very special to see the man-made images underwater in complete harmony with the schools of fish that swim, eat and find protection between the images. The museum is located in a sheltered bay in Playa Blanca at a depth of 12 to 15 meters.
Dive College Lanzarote has been located in Playa Blanca since 2001 and is the only diving school right on the beach, a unique location with stunning views! The diving school has a large terrace with a lounge sofa and its own swimming pool that both divers and non-diving family can use. In addition to guided dives for certified divers, we also offer PADI diving courses and test dives in the sea. We work with a fixed, enthusiastic team of 7 instructors. Dive College is best known for its friendly and cozy atmosphere that makes everyone feel welcome, a diving school for the whole family.
Dive College Lanzarote has two boats and offers diving both by boat and from shore to various dive sites. Besides Museo Atlántico, Flamingo Wall is a popular dive site where you will find a huge variety of marine life. Other beautiful dive sites are for example El Emisario, Coloradas, where you dive under the reef, Punta Berrugo with a small cave and the wreck dive. There is also a good offer of shore diving. The reefs around Lanzarote are formed by lava flows and the marine life here is protected. You will find barracudas, rays and angel sharks here. The Canary Islands is one of the few places where you can still regularly see the endangered angelshark as a diver. In addition, there is a great diversity of reef fish, moray eels, squid and sepia, but also smaller marine life such as nudibranchs and crabs.
The excellent diving conditions coupled with the pleasant temperatures both under and above water as well as the politically stable climate make Lanzarote a very attractive diving destination. A diving destination that can be visited all year round and where both divers and non-diving family can enjoy themselves. Lanzarote is only a 4 hour flight from the Netherlands and has a diverse range of accommodations from hotels and apartments. A special option is Villa Tulipa, a pleasant villa with two bedrooms, a beautiful outdoor terrace with stone BBQ and a private swimming pool.
