Defense Diving group big present at Duikvaker

Navigator

The Defense Diving Group carries out diving operations and clears explosives under water. These Navy divers also repair underwater vessels and check ports for possible explosives.

The DDG has gained a great deal of knowledge and expertise during worldwide operations and exercises, but also during military support in the Netherlands.

The DDG is therefore guaranteed, can be deployed quickly and worldwide to effectively combat underwater threats for you and Dutch security.

The Defense Diving Group has 100 operational personnel and has 3 teams, these diving teams each have their own task.

VSW:

The Very Shallow Water dive team supports amphibious operations by clearing the landing area of mines and obstacles.

Deep diving team:

The deep diving team specializes in deep diving. It clears mines and carries out rescue operations on submarines.

Salvage & Construction:

The salvage and construction team focuses on repairs to ships under water. It makes underwater structures (for example by welding and cutting) and inspects harbor installations.

Mine Countermeasures:

In addition, MCM divers work aboard mine countermeasures vessels.

Would you like to learn more about the above tasks or are you interested in diving in the Navy? The Defense Diving Group will be at the Duikvaker Beurs in Houten in the weekend of 2-3 February and can inform you about working at the Defense Diving Group.
