THE BARE Sentry with ATX system

The Bare Sentry Tech Dry Drysuit is the latest neoprene drysuit from BARE. As flexible and comfortable as a warm water wetsuit, it meets the requirements of recreational and technical divers and even commercial and military divers. “The dry suit that does it all”. 

Material

The Sentry Tech Dry is made of Yamamoto neoprene. That is, as they say, hyper-compressed 2 mm neoprene. Read: neoprene that has been compressed very hard to a thickness of 2mm and yet is very flexible and light. 

The Sentry is assembled using the trusted NST technique. NST stands for No Stitch Technology, which simply means that not a single piece of the suit is sewn together – it's all put together using glue and heat. The seams of the Sentry are glued to the head side, after which the nylon top layer is removed from both sides of the glued neoprene to the 'open cell' structure of the neoprene. A special tape is then stuck on this, which ultimately gives a very strong seal, together with the 2 mm end side. Anyway, there are no needle holes in the suit and you also prevent that if there was tension on a thread, it could tear through the neoprene. After all, there is no wire. The shoes are so-called tech boots. 

The highlight of the Sentry Tech Dry is the ATX system. As a result, the suit fits like a glove next to the anatomical shape. 

The ATX system explained. 

As mentioned, the Sentry suit tested has ATX, which is based on Automatic Torso Recoil - this ensures that the upper part of the suit can move independently of the lower part. It gives you flexibility without the need for a crotch strap to keep the lower part in place. The new thing about this suit, which makes it ATX, is the fact that they have made braces in the suit that are not attached to the suit but to the ATR part, which has been extended at the front with a piece of breathable neoprene for that purpose. 

It's like putting on dungarees with short suspenders, which in practice turn out to be more convenient than the long often used suspenders.

On the hips, exactly at the right height, there are two spacious pockets with bungees. The pockets can be enlarged by opening a zipper. 

Experiences of divers:

• The suit is very comfortable and flexible. 
• Fantastic fit thanks to the ATX system. 
• The Sentry's insulation is excellent and distinct from trilaminate experiences on long cold dives. Much less need for a heated vest or undersuit. 
• With intensive use in the caves, the suit proves to be very durable and strong. 
• The suit is easier to put on than a conventional suit due to the innovative ATX system
• Although neoprene, there is hardly any difference in buoyancy at depth. Compressed yet lightweight and flexible. 
• Another very big advantage. The delivery time is super short. The suits are available in many sizes from the importer.
