50 years of underwater adventure!

Vic Verlinden started diving when he bought a diving tank at a second-hand market in Antwerp in 1975. Diving was a sport for a few people at that time. There was no diving computer and life jackets were not yet common. In 1979 he bought his first underwater camera and made his first big trip to the Virgin Islands (USA). Later he made trips to Papua New Guinea and the Red Sea. He worked as a diving guide in Israel and Egypt. He dived on wrecks in the North Sea with his own boat for more than 15 years. In 1992 he found the wreck of the East Indies sailor “De Roompot” (1844)
In 2005 he made the switch to technical and rebreather diving. Vic is the author of 5 books and dozens of reports for all major diving magazines. His latest book “Lusitania- The underwater collection” was sold in more than 20 different countries. He also worked on various television programs for VRT and VTM. He escaped disaster several times when he and his traveling companion were attacked by Papuans in New Guinea. Another time when his boat caught fire in the North Sea and burned down completely. At the moment Vic still dives and photographs on deep wrecks. He is also working on a new book that will be published next year.
